Mortal Kombat XL Upgrade Process And Pricing Revealed For PS4 And Xbox One

NetheRealm Studios has revealed the upgrade process and price for Mortal Kombat XL on PS4 and Xbox One. If you own Mortal Kombat X and want to update to the latest version of the game, you will need to drop around $24.99 dollars to update to XL version which includes Kombat Pack 1, Kombat Pack 2 as well as all the available DLC Costumes and Packs.

If you don’t own any version of the game, you can purchase Mortal Kombat XL for $59.99 on the PS4 and Xbox One. However, if you own the original game along with Kombat Pack 1, you will be able to update to the XL version for just $19.99.

NetherRealm Studios has already confirmed that they don’t have any plans to release the XL version on PC, so if you own the game on PC, you can’t really update to the latest version or use the new characters.

Mortal Kombat X is currently available in a sale on the North American PlayStation Store for the PS4. You can get the original game for half off, or around $29.99 with PS Plus. This means that if you want to go for the cheapest route to update to the latest version of the game, you can get the base game in the current ongoing sale and then update to the XL version for $24.99, making the total cost of the game $54.99.

Mortal Kombat XL will be out on March 1st, 2016 for the PS4 and Xbox One. There are no plans to release this new update for PC.

What happens to costumes from the mobile game as I really dont play it but want to have jonny cages mime costume or the injustice scorpion.

  • This is just very confusing.
I have MKX with KP1. So when I buy KP2, I will be upgraded to MKXL? Do I get the Gold Scorpion skin? Do I get the Cosplay pack? I have purchased everything they released so far and my goal is to have the complete game. All Characters and all skins. It seems you will only get the Cosplay Pack if you pre-order the game from Amazon. I don’t ant to do this as I have already spent a small fortune on this game. I live in South Africa and our currency is weak compared to the USD. Buying these extras really cost a lot of money. There is no mention of the Gold Scorpion Skin.

    • Unfortunately that skin is pre-order exclusive for MKXL edition on PS4/XBO. AFAIK, there is no other way to get it.

Good news friend if you buy kombat pack 2 it automatically upgrades to XL edition.
