New Digimon Game Announcement Teased By Series Producer

Bandai Namco is celebrating a Digimon event on July 29th. Since this event is for a new Digimon game, fans were expecting to hear more about this project on July 29th, however, the Digimon series producer has now teased an early announcement in the V-Jump Magazine which launches on July 21st.

Bandai Namco will host a “Digimon Thanksgiving 2018 Special Meeting and Latest Game Report” on July 29th that will also feature a new game announcement. This event will be live-streamed on Nico Nico and YouTube on July 29 from 19:00 to 22:45 JST.

Digimon has faced a surge of interest this generation after the success of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth and Digimon World: Next Order. Bandai Namco has released 3 Digimon games so far on the PS4 and there might be another new project announced later this July, as shared by Gematsu.

Digimon series producer Kazumasa Habu has said on Twitter to “Pay attention to the [July] 21 issue of V-Jump,” which hints towards an early reveal ahead of the July 29th event. Judging from his tweet, it is not hard to assume that he is referring to the new game announcement.

The last Digimon game was for the PS4 only in the Western market. It was Digimon Story: Hacker’s Memory. While it also launched for the PS Vita in Japan, Bandai Namco didn’t release a Western localization for it.
