Call of Duty as a series has been lacking in the innovation department over the years. Fans since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare have been complaining that the series is getting stale and needs something new. Those very fans might be getting something innovative, something Call of Duty players have never seen before really soon. In case you didn’t know, this year’s Call of Duty is being developed by Sledgehammer Games and this time they are getting their very own title, instead of being co-developers with Infinity Ward on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. This new Call of Duty game is titled Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
We all saw the trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare which shows a lot of the new things Sledgehammer Games is bringing to the series and most of this stuff has never been seen before in the Call of Duty franchise. Today, I’m going to give you a complete run down on a few new features that Sledgehammer Games is bringing to their upcoming game which will completely change how you play the game.
This is going to be a game changer, but that depends on how durable the deployable cover will be. I think this will be an equipment and we will be able to select it like we could select claymores and C4 in Call of Duty: Black Ops. This will be a very useful equipment and will give the user the upper hand in areas which don’t have a lot of cover to protect yourself but once again, the usefulness of the deployable cover depends on it’s durability.
This will also be an essential part of the game. Usually, when you play Call of Duty, whether it be Public matches or competitive matches, there are just a few routes you can take to get from point A to point B but this ability to climb walls will completely change that aspect of the game. Instead of just one, two or three routes, you can now have numerous ways to get to where you want. This ability will greatly impact how we play the game and will bring a Titanfall-ish feel to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. But this ability might only be available in the campaign so this might not even be a part of the multiplayer.
So far, we know that the Exo Suit will give players the ability to Jump really high and or really far and the Exo Suit also gives the player super human strength. This can give players a completely new way to maneuver around the map but similar to the Wall Climbing ability, this might not be apart of the multiplayer and might only be present in the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare campaign. All we can do it wait to see what Sledgehammer Games has planned for us.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this feature in a Call of Duty game. It was a part of Achilles’ Veil, a mission in the campaign of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. It might be a killstreak in the game but nothing is confirmed so we’ll just have to wait and see.
Just when you thought that the Exo Suit looked awesome, in came a heavily armored soldier with a Gatling gun. This is Sledgehammer’s version of the Juggernaut Suit but similar to the previous suits, we don’t know if this is a part of the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare campaign or the multiplayer but one thing’s for sure, the Mech Suit looks badsss!
This is one of many things that we saw in the trailer which gave us an idea of the time period Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will take place in. We don’t know what this light does but if I had to guess I would say it detects enemy equipment and explosives like mines in the vicinity.
In my opinion, this grenade will be a lot like the sensor grenade from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The Infrared Grenades let you see enemies through walls but it will only last for a little while. This is certainly going to be an interesting equipment to use and I can see a lot of competitive Call of Duty players using it.
It’s awesome to see that Sledgehammer Games is bring something new to the Call of Duty and are adding a lot of new features. I think that Sledgehammer Games might introduce a new feature into the game which allows players to select a specific type of soldier, like a soldier that uses the Exo Suit, a soldier that uses the Wall Climbing ability or a soldier who has the ability to turn invisible. The new features I mentioned above might not be a part of the Online Multiplayer and the uses of the equipment are just my opinions so take it with a pinch of salt. We can’t do anything but wait till Sledgehammer Games reveals more info about the game. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare comes out on the 4th of November on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
