New Final Fantasy XV videos show that Square Enix is not messing around when it comes to exploration

Square Enix is actively showing off their latest flagship title – Final Fantasy XV at the on-going Paris Game Week convention. Yesterday they released some information about the game’s upcoming demo titled Episode Duscae which is coming in March 2015 and several other pieces of information that you can read here.

Today the Final Fantasy XV’s developer Hajime Tabata and his team showed off a tech demo of the game and some gameplay videos showcasing the type of exploration players can expect to do in the game.

The Tech Demo which you can view below showcases game’s day and night cycle, I must admit fighting monsters in the dark looks like a pretty surreal experience. They also showed off the game’s facial simulation technology where we see Noctis laughing, which is something we haven’t seen before in the previously released Final Fantasy XV media. Other stuff shown in the tech demo included the terrain editor, character animations, AI and particle visual effects.

After the tech demo concluded, the team showed off a detailed gameplay video of the type of exploration possible in Final Fantasy XV. The video starts off with the crew stepping out of their car and exploring the different terrains on the foot. The environments and exploration reminded me of open world games like Skyrim which is not something I expected from a Final Fantasy game that have been fairly linear lately – I’m looking at you Final Fantasy XIII. Check it out below.

So what are your thoughts after seeing both the videos? All hyped up for Final Fantasy XV? Let us know in the comments below.
