Recently, Gameinformer did a 14 page spread on Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. It shared a lot of information regarding the upcoming Call of Duty that we already knew but it also revealed a few new things.

It revealed that the main character of the game will be called Michell and at the start on the campaign, you will get the Exo-Skeleton suit. As we have seen in the trailer, the exo-skeleton suit gives the person wearing it a few powers like Super Strength, Super Jump and Wall Climbing but you won’t have these abilities from the first mission of the game. As you play the campaign and progress through each of the missions, you earn points which you can then use to purchase new features and abilities. The whole purchasable abilities feature might also be available in the multiplayer where you unlock new abilities as you level up or you will have to purchase them through whatever kind of purchasing method Sledgehammer Games implement in the game.

We also discover two new abilities which the Exo-Skeleton suit will have. The first ability is the ability to boost dodge or evade and the second ability is the ability to hover. Both of these abilities are not confirmed to be in the multiplayer but they will be available in the single player campaign. The Boost Dodge ability can be very useful in sticky situations when there are multiple enemies shooting at you and you are in the open so you can boost dodge into cover and save yourself. The Boost dodge ability will ideal for situations like these and it can save your life. By what I’ve read, this ability will be very similar to the Thruster Pack from Halo. The Hover ability can be similar to the hover or glide ability in Infamous: Second Son. This ability can be useful to get to areas which can’t be reached by foot.

Sledgehammer Games is being very innovative with their first game which is what fans wanted but is it too innovative? Will this game feel like a Call of Duty game or will it be like a mash-up of multiple games? It can be a hit or a miss in my opinion. Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
