Microsoft has added 3 brand new Xbox 360 games to the Xbox One backwards compatibility today. The newest addition to Xbox One backwards compatibility was revealed by Major Nelson on Twitter.
The following three games will now work on the Xbox One for those who won an Xbox 360 copy of the game, either digitally or retail.
- Assassin’s Creed
- Dark Void
- Grid 2
Microsoft is also working on a store for Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One. It is currently only accessible for all the preview members but will be released officially to all members once the new March update is released.
In addition to the announcement of three new backwards compatible games this week, Microsoft also recently confirmed that Alan Wake and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night are now compatible for the Xbox One.
If you own an Xbox 360 game that is currently compatible for Xbox One, you can download your game on the Xbox One and play it from there. There is no need to purchase it again and this method works even for the games which have a retail version. Users will just have to insert their retail copy in Xbox One and will be promoted to download the game. While there is no support for multi-disc games yet, Microsoft has announced any plans for these type of games.
