Next Need for Speed game announced for 2017 release

Last year EA rebooted the Need for Speed series with a game centred around street racing, the sub-genre that made the series so popular

The next game in the series has been confirmed for a 2017 release on the official Need for Speed website. Here’s what the announcement said:

We are now building upon the foundations that have been laid with Need for Speed and delivering our next game in 2017,

That’s not to say that we’re going quiet between now and then… far from it. We’ll be working with our community and there will be multiple opportunities to bring many of you into the studio in the coming months to get your feedback on where we’re headed.

The developer for 2017’s Need for Speed isn’t confirmed yet but it could very well be Ghost Games, developers of the previous game.

Expected platforms for the next game are PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Looking forward to the next game in the NFS series? What do you want them to do different this time? Let us know in the comments below.

I have bought every Need For Speed ever released except last years game simply due to the forced always online drm, alldrive, autolog which has no place in a single player game.

I hope this new game returns to its “REAL!!!” roots and does away with all the hot hatch tuning bollocks and concentrates on exotic supercars, breathtaking scenery and track selections. Most important of all it needs to be PLAYABLE OFFLINE. Lets see if EA have learnt their lesson (somehow I doubt it). EA want our money but don’t want to give us what we want.
