Earlier today, the trophy lists for 2 games suddenly went up on the website Exophase, for the PlayStation 4. These games were Dead Rising and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, and their posting has raised a number of questions.
Firstly, both games are considerably old, and since the PlayStation 4 does not have a backwards compatibility feature, they would probably need a remaster from the ground up in order to be ported. Secondly, not only was Dead Rising an Xbox 360 exclusive, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 wasn’t an incredibly high selling game either. So this begs the question, why would these games be coming to the PlayStation 4 when there are clearly many other titles that are in much higher demand?
As of right now, there have been no official announcements regarding either game. If this speculation is indeed true, both Activision and Capcom may be getting in front of these leaks soon. Although this news could very well be false, Exophase does have a reputation for getting listings correct.
It was also recently revealed that the latest game in the Dead Rising franchise, Dead rising 4, will be a timed exclusive on Xbox One and PC, with a PlayStation 4 release set for next year. Perhaps the re-release of the original will act as promotion for the upcoming game. Hopefully we will hear more in the coming days.
