Paladins Potentially Heading To Nintendo Switch, Reference Detected In Config File

Paladins started as a free-to-play hero-based shooter that managed to achieve success in the shadows of Blizzard’s Overwatch. Over time, it has now grown to established its own features that sets it apart from Overwatch aside from featuring the same animated art style that gives the presentation of a CGI animated movie.

Paladins is still in active development with updates for the open beta released every once in a while. The recent update for the Paladins Open Beta 62 (via) reportedly contains references to the Nintendo Switch version of the game.

This doesn’t necessarily confirms that a Switch version is on the cards. It does hint that the developers are interested in the platform and could be testing out a release on it, if it is possible to do so.

Overwatch is another game that fans have asked to get a release on the Nintendo Switch, but at that time, Blizzard weren’t sure if it was possible to port it to the Switch hardware. If Overwatch doesn’t make it to the Switch, maybe the developers of Paladins can snatch this opportunity to release their shooter on the Nintendo Switch. After all, Nintendo’s latest platform is proving to be a lucrative hardware for third party developers with the likes of DOOM and Skyrim having released for it recently.
