Mcirosoft has announced a new initiative for their Xbox One and Windows 10 platform. This new program is called Play Anywhere and any game that is a part of this program will be cross-buy between Xbox One and Windows, in addition to having cross-play and cross-save support.
This was announced with the reveal of Gears of War 4 coming to Windows 10. All co-op modes and multiplayer of Gears of War 4 will feature cross-play support between Windows 10 and Xbox One. The full list of games was later confirmed, you can check it out below. This is just the initial list of games that have been confirmed for Play Anywhere.
Forza Horizon 3
Gears of War 4
Halo Wars 2
Sea of Thieves
State of Decay 2
We Happy Few
Ark: Survival Evolved
Scalebound was originally revealed as an Xbox One exclusive so its inclusion here confirms that the game will be coming to Windows 10 along with Xbox One. Since Microsoft has yet to release any of their games to other platforms on PC, it is possible that Scalebound will remain exclusive to Windows 10 store just like Quantum Break.
Play Anywhere’s first game appears to be We Happy Few which is releasing this July. Ark Survival Evolved is also confirmed for Play Anywhere and will be added to the program soon, making it possible to have cross-play between Windows 10 and Xbox One users.
