PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds First Xbox One Update Improves Performance, Comparison Inside

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has received its first update today for the Xbox One, and just as the patch notes indicated, there is improvement to the performance for the game on the Xbox One.

YouTube user CandyLand has done a comparison of the game before and after applying the new patch and the improved frame rate is indeed noticeable, however the game is still not solid 30 fps as one might have hoped with a stable release.

The biggest improvement is when dropping from the plane in the start of each round while the rest of the frame rate can be still unstable depending on the players count and a variety of different factors. Keep in mind that this comparison is between the Xbox One version while the Xbox One X version of the game was already a much more stable version that runs at native 4k.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a console launch exclusive on Xbox One and it is currently a part of the game preview program which allows developers to release early build of their games. The same program is being offered on Steam with Early Access, which also offers PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

The game has proven to be a smashing success for the developer Bluehole who have already announced multiple mobile games for the series along with a final release of the game in early 2018.
