Judging by the above, not every exclusive title ended up with 720p resolution that was the standard back then so we are gonna take a wild guess here and say that we should expect the same from the upcoming generation. As usual, most of Sony exclusives in current generation strictly adhered to native 720p standard just like Sony is currently winning the race in term of 1080p exclusives. There weren’t many titles that stuck with a 60 fps though.

Well, Gears and CrackDown are pretty dead franchises, wich leaves just a handfull of exclusives for Microsoft on this transition from current to next gen. Let’s see if Xbox trend can replace them. On Sony’s side, God of War and Killzone are suffering of exaustion, also, on my particular view. Played GOWIII and loved it. Played Ascension and got frustrated… Killzone, I’ve played both PS3 titles, but never felt totally satisfied (excelent graphics, but average gameplay). I hope Shadowfall will redeem the series.

Gears of War…the game that sells 6-8 million per entry is a dead franchise? Excluding judgement of course but that wasn’t marketed like the other games, wasn’t a numbered entry and it released in March.
Gears is anything but dead, Crackdown is quite dead though I agree. I think Gears and God of War need a break for a while, they’ve released enough entries for now, give it another 3 years or so.

I think is the stander in next gen must be 1080p and 60frs so Sony with the GDDR5 is currently dose, but Microsoft not sure …

I still find the few games that were 640p on the Xbox 360 to be a truly pathetic site to have seen that as an acceptable resolution for current-gen.

On my monitor which doesn’t upscale very well, Halo Reach was pretty horrific. Good thing it was an awesome game.

Yeah but Halo Reach ran forge world, and all these huge spaces. No 360/PS3 shooter this gen has offered a level editor on the same scale as forge world, not even close. So the res hit makes sense.

Only big game at that res was Halo 3, and that was because it used HDR dynamic lighting, and had amazing water effects for it’s time (the lighting and water in Halo 3 were some of the best on consoles that year).

Gameplay wise though Halo 3 was my favourite FPS this gen, so I guess the millions who played it didn’t care lol.
