Apparently PlayStation 4’s 1.50 System Update files have been uploaded on the servers by Sony. Sony recently revealed that PlayStation 4 too will require a Day One update, which is numbered 1.50 officially.
NeoGAF user, Frumix, found the US update files on the PlayStation website. Just like with the PlayStation 3, the files appear to be the same for every region. Have a look at the detailed info about the update file below:
According to the files found on the server, there seem to be two files present; an Update file with the size of 308MB and a Recovery file with the size of 859MB. Sony recently detailed what their Day One update will bring to the users, it included Face Recognition and Voice Commands, Online Multiplayer, Remote Play, Second Screen, Play as you download (PlayGO) amongst many others. You can read more about them over at the official PlayStation Blog.
You can download the Update file from here, and the Recovery file from here.
This Day One update from Sony can be downloaded in the background. Shuhei Yoshida also confirmed that the game discs on launch will not come with the 1.50 update and hence it can only be downloaded online from the servers directly on the PlayStation 4 or from the PlayStation website to be updated via the external storage method. It is also worth mentioning that you don’t really need the Day One 1.50 update in order to play on the PlayStation 4.
PlayStation 4 releases on November 15 in North America and on November 29 in Europe.
