PlayStation 4 Supports 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p Resolutions

PlayStation 4 only supports HDMI connection for visual output. Surprisingly, PlayStation 4 supports a multitude of resolutions as opposed to the Xbox One which only allowed the resolution to be 720p or 1080p, Xbox One doesn’t support 1080i.

Cjcool804, the man who is now the news all over the internet for receiving his PlayStation 4 early has been kind enough to share details about the system with us. His recent tweet contains an image which shows the resolution options for the PlayStation 4:

PlayStation 4 supports the following resolutions:

  • Automatic
  • 480p
  • 720p
  • 1080i
  • 1080p

After selecting your preferred resolution, you can adjust an area to fill the display of your TV:

The Y Pb/CB Pr/Cr range is also present but this time with three options, the same as RGB range:

Stay tuned with us as we bring you more information about the PlayStation 4
