Pokemon X and Y: Mega Stones Location Guide

Pokemon X and Y introduced Mega Evolution through Mega Stones. Mega Evolution is one step above the max evolution of a Pokemon and is a temporary power boost as the Mega Evolution will wear out after the battle ends. So far we have 26 confirmed Pokemon that can be Mega Evolved but thanks to the power of the 3DS this could change. Developers Game Freak could easily add more via events (like the Torchic event) or DLC so keep a lookout for those.

Mega Stones are really useful as they help increase your Pokemon’s stats in battle, the downside is that you can only Mega Evolve one Pokemon in your party per battle. Still I really like Mega Evolutions as help competitive battlers as myself come up with new strategies to defeat the opponent.

If you are having trouble getting the Mega Stones, make sure you have met the following requirements:

      1. Beat the Elite Four
      2. Battle your rival in Kiloude City (You will have to battle at least one trainer in the Battle Maison before she will appear. Once you have done so, you will find her on the north side of town near a bench.)
      3. Speak with Professor Sycamore in Anistar City. He is located right in front of the giant sundial.
      4. Make sure you are searching for the stones between the hours of 8PM to 9PM.

      Hope this helps
