Titanfall 2 is out tomorrow, and developer Respawn Entertainment has revealed a rather surprising piece of news for the game.
According to an official post on the Titanfall 2 website, the game will not have a season pass of any kind, and no this doesn’t mean you’ll have to pay separately for the DLC either. All maps, modes, or any of the other content released for the game after launch will be absolutely free for players on all platforms. A one time payment is all that will be needed to guarantee continued support for the game.
According to the official post:
“No Season Pass required: all maps & modes will be free in Titanfall 2 Multiplayer. This means no splitting up the community and it all starts with the legendary Angel City map, remastered from the original Titanfall. This means once you’ve purchased Titanfall 2, your investment includes a full single player campaign, the full multiplayer maps and modes, and long-term support with no hidden costs. You can pre-order the game to play 3 days early, but it will never cost you extra.”
This is a very surprising move on part of the developer, especially considering the recent trend of releasing constant paid DLC for first person shooters in particular.
Titanfall 2 is out on 28th October, 2016 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the PC. You can also learn more about all six Titans set to appear in the game here.
