The PlayStation 4 Neo is reported to come out before the end of 2016. Which means it will possibly come out before Microsoft releases their Project Scorpio, which is confirmed for Holiday 2017.
In an article today, Eurogamer’s Richard Leadbetter stated that several of his sources indicated that PS4 Neo will launch this year. It will will be interesting to see how PS4 Neo compares in performance to the original PS4.
So far, not much has been revealed about the PlayStation 4 Neo. All we currently know is that Neo offers enhanced graphics performance and 4k output.
Sony Interactive Entertainment President, Andrew House, confirmed Neo before their E3 Press Conference. He also mentioned that it will not be discussed at the event. However, Microsoft had other plans. They announced Project Scorpio during their Press Conference at E3. A system that Phil Spencer claims to be 4.5 times more powerful than the Xbox One.
We do not know much about Project Scorpio at the moment, but we do know that it features six teraflops of performance. The console is set to come out in holidays 2017. Sony and Microsoft have stressed that the games that will be released on Neo or Scorpio will also work with the regular Xbox One and PS4.
