PS4 Firmware Update 5.05 Released Ahead Of Major Beta Update

Sony has released a brand new firmware update for the PS4 today, ahead of the officially announced beta firmware update that is for system software 5.50.

This new system software update should be available to download now and the patch notes mention a performance improvement, which is always the case for such minor firmware updates.

  • This system software update improves system performance.

The download size for this new firmware update is less than 360 MB. It is mandatory update required to be installed before you can play online on your PlayStation 4. The last update for the PlayStation 4 was for system software 5.03 and it was released back in early December.
