Microsoft’s Keiji Inafune developed action-adventure title Recore is set to arrive on the Xbox One and PC later this year on September 13 in North America, September 15 in Japan, and September 16 in Europe. This news comes from a Neogaf user by the name of Gwyn, who recently also shared screenshots for what appears to be Dead Rising 4.
A few members of the team at Comcept and Armature, the studio behind the development of Recore, have previously worked on the Metroid series as part of Retro Studios. Coupled with Inafune’s talent, the studio is poised as an interesting mix of design philosophies.
ReCore was first announced during Microsoft’s E3 press conference in 2015. A young woman is shown accompanied by a robotic dog with a glowing sphere in its abdomen in the game’s debut teaser. They are both exploring what appears to be a vault located in a vast desert.
Upon being attacked by robotic enemies, the woman is seen using a grappling hook to remove cores, similar to those found on the robot dog, from her foes. Once the odds are stacked against them, the robot dog self-destructs in an effort to take out the surrounding enemy robots, leaving its core behind.
We’re expected the game to be showcased at Microsoft’s E3 conference tomorrow, with a trailer and possibly a live demo as well. In the meantime, here’s a look at the game’s box art:
