Resident Evil 2 Remake Apparently Utilizes Unused Concepts From Resident Evil 1.5

Resident Evil 2 is widely recognized as a part of an unfinished Resident Evil 1.5, which has been completely released a while ago by the fans. There was plenty of concept art available that pointed towards many unused enemies, costumes, and character design, and they are reportedly going to be used in the upcoming Resident Evil 2 Remake.

As noted by fans on Reddit, and Twitter user Jawmuncher, Resident Evil 2 Remake is using some of the concept from the scrapped Resident Evil 1.5 in the Remake. This won’t be a new discovery since this has happened in the past with the first Resident Evil Remake, that used the concepts that were scrapped in its modern remake.

Claire’s design has changed and now she appears to be much closer to Elze, the scrapped lead character from Resident Evi 1.5. The new hallway design was seen in the original concept art for Resident Evil 1.5 while Mr. X now wears a hat that is another inspiration from the original concept artwork.

It will be interesting to see how the developers approach this remake and whether they will use the unfinished rooms, new locations and enemy designs that were a part of the Resident Evil 1.5 concept before being scrapped in favor of Resident Evil 2 that was released for the PS1.

Resident Evil 2 Remake will launch on January 25th, 2019 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
