If the QTEs in Resident Evil 6 annoyed you, then you’d be glad to know that Resident Evil 7 is confirmed to not have them.
The seventh entry in the series was announced back at Sony’s E3 conference and it came as a huge surprise. Even though the game was rumored for a while, many failed to recognise what was being showing off on the big screen was until the Resident Evil 7 logo flashed by. The series is now going in a brand new direction and only time will tell if it’ll pay off.
The game will be free of QTEs as revealed by the Producer Masachika Kawata in an interview on the Capcom Community Blog.
Also I just want to say one last message: There will be no Quick Time Events in Resident Evil 7 [laughs]. I know there are a lot of people who will be relieved to hear that.
The interview is pretty interesting and any fan of the series should checking it out. Kawata goes over how the RE7 is not a reboot and why they decided to change the game into a First Person Perspective.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard releases on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on January 27 next year.
