Rise Of The Tomb Raider fans are going to be very unhappy about this one
Despite the fact that Microsoft incessantly protested to this matter, the latest rumor from the rumor mill states that Rise Of The Tomb Raider will be arriving for the PS4 and Microsoft Windows platform during Q4, 2016, which is exactly 12 months after the release of the title on Microsoft’s Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles.
Game Debate states that till the time that Rise Of The Tomb Raider remains exclusive, it will allow the software giant to reap in significant amounts of revenue, which is a good thing for the tech firm; not so much for the fans desperately waiting for the sequel after the video game franchise rebooted the series with a video game that was released in 2011.
The website also reports that game publisher Square Enix will be attempting to avoid a ‘Tomb Raider fan’ backlash by offering Rise Of The Tomb Raider at a discount for both PS4 and Microsoft Windows. It is expected that the price tag of the upcoming video game will be stamped with a $40 tag for both the aforementioned machines, which should give consumers some degree of comfort after waiting for 12 whole months.
However, both Square Enix and Microsoft should not forget that they have made some enemies thanks to the timed exclusive road that they have chosen to embark upon. Currently, the news is still a rumor and should be treated as such. However, we should also keep in mind that previous Xbox One exclusives such as Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3 were released for PC approximately 12 months after they were released on consoles.
We expect the confirmation of this news to become available for PS4 and Microsoft Windows platform owners during Q1, 2016. Till now, we are going to have to muster a whole lot of patience if the rumor holds true.
