Robinson: The Journey is Crytek’s latest PlayStation VR exclusive title, which was scheduled to be released on the 8th of this month in the US and Canada, and on 9th in Europe. After a short delay in the intended release, the game is now available at major retailers, the PlayStation Store, and on the game’s official website.
Crytek is known to be one of the most ambitious development studios in the area of virtual reality videogames. Robinson: The Journey is the their second VR release, and offers players a pretty remarkable VR experience. This game is a proof of the increasingly high levels of innovation in the VR sector.
The plot of this first-person adventure game revolves around a young boy named Robin who finds himself stranded on Tyson III when his Esmeralda crashes. Gamers have to play as Robin while they explore a world filled with adventure, secrets, and dinosaurs. In Robin’s desperate quest to find other survivors of a failed space mission, he has only HIGS, an AI unit from the Esmeralda, to guide him.
The game is currently available for £54.99 GBP for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro consoles. Hopefully Crytek has learned from the mistakes it made with The Climb – the first VR title it launched – and can offer players a better experience.
