Sony To Try A Different Format For This Year’s E3 – Insider

Industry Insider Shinobi602 has been quite reliable with his leaks recently and he had something interesting to share on Twitter regarding Sony’s upcoming E3.

According to Shinobi, Sony is going to try a different format for their upcoming E3 stage conference.

Expect a somewhat different format from previous years. #sony#E3

When various users asked him if this means good or bad news? He said that it is better in his opinion.

Still on stage, but I think it’s better.

Don’t be, it’ll still be great.

Shinobi later clarified his tweet that he didn’t mean a digital event like Nintendo Direct but a different format for the E3 stage conference.

Just to be clear, I don’t mean some kind of “Sony Direct”, still a stage conference guys.

Microsoft also talked about trying something different for this year’s E3. Phil Spencer put a huge emphasis on catering to the hardcore gamers and showing more games. Meanwhile, Nintendo is also trying a different approach this time around with a digital event instead of another Nintendo Direct like last year.

Sony’s E3 stage conference is scheduled for Monday 9th June at 18:00 PM PST – 1:00 AM GMT.

What exactly he means by a “different format”? I guess we will find it out soon enough. You can share your theories with us in the comments below.
