With the 2016 Olympics right around the corner, Blizzard has released a new game mode in celebration to the upcoming event for Overwatch.
The Overwatch team added a Rocket League inspired game mode called Lucioball to the game. The new game mode is a 3v3 brawl, which has a time limit of four minutes, with the teams trying to get the giant ball into their opponent’s goal. Check out the trailer for the new game mode below:
In a post on the PlayStation Blog website, Blizzard’s Aaron Keller stated that, “This is our very first seasonal event, but there are more on the horizon.”
The update that included the new game mode to Overwatch, also added new sprays, emotes, player icons, highlight intros, and skins to the game. Keller also stated that every player will receive at least one Summer Games themed item from Loot Boxes during the event.
A few days ago, Blizzard released an update that introduced the new Overwatch hero to the game. Ana Amari, Support Sniper, was the newest addition to the Overwatch roster, adding a sniper which could deal damage as well as heal her allies with her biotic rifle.
The new Rocket League inspired, Lucioball, game mode is now available on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
