Super Smash Bros. Is Heading To Nintendo Switch In 2018

In the last surprise announcement in the latest Nintendo Direct, it was confirmed that Nintendo Switch will get a Super Smash Bros. game later this year. There was no information shared on what type of game fans should expect or the release date, but expect to hear more about it at the upcoming E3 2018.

Super Smash Bros. is an arena brawler that features an all-star roster comprised of mainly fighters from popular Nintendo IPs and even some third party IPs like Megaman and Final Fantasy have made their way to Smash Bros. The release of the Nintendo Switch version was confirmed for 2018 in the reveal trailer which can be seen below.

The reveal trailer shows the Splatoon characters playing around leading to a logo reveal for the game. There isn’t really much to go on here just from the trailer so it should be interesting to see if Nintendo decides to release a brand new Smash Bros. game or settles on a remake of the Nintendo Wii U release.

Super Smash Bros. is an extremely popular arena brawler that pits 4 different players against each other. The last mainline game launched on the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U while the character roster was same between both releases. The release of the Switch version should come with its own set of new characters.
