Even though we’re all excited for Tales of Xillia 2 to release in Western regions this August, we can’t afford to forget about the next Tales game. The game I’m talking about is obviously Tales of Zestiria which was revealed by developers Namco Bandai just a few months ago.
Tales of Zestiria recently got a brand new trailer (check out the first trailer here) that shows the game’s main characters, check it out below:
Although the trailer is in Japanese, we have some idea of what’s going on thanks to Siliconera. Tales of Zestiria is said to take place in the “era of disasters” and tell the “story of the Monks”. The trailer stars off with the narrator dictating that humans are weak and will pray for the appearance of a wonk when things look bleak.
The game features two protagonists like the original Tales of Xillia, they are Slay and Alicia. We see male protagonist Slay highlighting the trailer, he wishes that humans and peoples of the Heavenly Tribe live together in peace like the old Legendary Era. Towards the end we see Slay trying to pull out the Holy Sword, which will allow him to become a Monk. Another of Tales of Zestiria’s characters Laila then warns him that if he does that then he will become her vessel and have to accept the fate that comes with the job.
Slay, being the typical brave JRPG protagonist that he is, says he’s ready to become a monk if that means that humans and the Heavenly Tribe can live together in peace.
Tales of Zestiria is PS3 exclusive, Bandai Namco has not set a release date for the game yet. What did you think of the trailer? Let us know in the comments below.
