Titanfall 2 has officially been announced during EA’s briefing today, with a brand new multiplayer trailer that showcases a mix of the prequel’s old features as well as some new ones.
The video shows six pilots leaping out of a massive aircraft, with their Titans rocketed down to the ground. We know now from this, that the Titans are more versatile, using new techniques, as the video displays one Titan performing a ground pound, while another uses projects a huge beam through a canon on its chest to take down the opposing mech.
Here is the trailer showing Titanfall 2’s multiplayer gameplay:
Other gameplay features included in the prequel are returning, such as wallrunning and first person shooting with a style involving aim down sights. Pilots also have a number of new abilities, such as a teleport and what looks like a grenade that sucks in enemies, making them easy pickings.
Additionally, a grappling hook has also been shown, used to move around the environment, and even pull pilots out of the air for an up-close kick.
There will also be a multiplayer beta for the upcoming game, which will be held sometime before launch, although there has been no specific date announced. The Titanfall website states that the beta is “designed to help Respawn test various aspects of the game and its online infrastructure.” To sign up for the beta, click here.
