Witcher 3 To Get 4K Update For The PS4 Pro In A Few Days, Xbox One X by End of Year

CD Project Red has recently confirmed in a financial result presentation that they are releasing a new 4K update for The Witcher 3 on the PS4 Pro and upcoming Xbox One X. This update was confirmed along with the reveal of the Xbox One X at Microsoft’s E3 2017 conference but there was no time frame given for it.

In their presentation (via NeoGAF), the developers have finally announced a time frame for the patch stating that it is coming soon for ‘consoles’. The official 4K patch for the PS4 Pro is set to launch in a few days while the Xbox One X update will be released by the end of the year. There are no official details revealed about the technical features introduced in this new patch except for calling it 4K update.

The more surprising part is the inclusion of Xbox One since the console isn’t out until November 2017, so if the update drops soon, it could also mean they are preparing to support the Xbox One X console at launch. The developer confirmed that they still have 100 developers working on the series although it was not clear whether he was talking about upcoming Witcher Card Game or a brand new Witcher.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most critically acclaimed RPG. It managed to dethrone The Last of Us for winning the most Game of the Year awards. It is the last entry in the Geralt of Rivia trilogy from CD Project Red, based on the stories from a Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.
