The Witcher 3 Confirmed To Get HDR Support, Listed As Enhanced On Xbox One X

The Witcher 3 is getting an update today for the Xbox One X as the game has now been listed as Xbox One X Enhanced on the system starting today. Despite having listed as enhanced, the game isn’t actually updated yet but according to a tweet from the community manager of CD Project Red, the update is due soon and will feature HDR support that seems to be exclusive to the Xbox One X for now.

The Witcher 3 launched with support for the PS4 Pro last month, however the update didn’t include support for HDR. When it was revealed that The Witcher 3 will have HDR support through the official website, fans questioned the inclusion because of the lack of support on the PS4 Pro, however it has been all but confirmed by CD Project Red Community Manager now that the support is indeed a part of the coming update.

The Witcher 3 was updated to run at 4K checkerboard resolution on the PS4 Pro so it should be interesting to see what kind of resolution it offers on the Xbox One X. In addition to the resolution upgrade, there can be other visual enhancements to the game including improvements to the shadows, textures and more.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released in May 2015. It is available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
