There are some hilarious bugs and glitches like these here, or there are others that simply don’t allow the players to continue the game, like loading screen bug detailed here, which keeps the players waiting with a “Please Wait” screen.

This is a rather unfortunate bug that has yet to be patched, but luckily enough, there is a way to temporarily fix this issue for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on the PS4 and Xbox One. To do so, follow the simple methods listed below.

  • Delete the game install from the console.
  • Restart the console and install the game again.
  • Make sure you are playing the game with the day 1 patch.

If the above method doesn’t work for you, you can try to clear your system cache on the Xbox One.

I tried to play Witcher 3 on PC (win7), but after I start the new game and watch through the cinematic, the loading screen gets stuck. The loading icon is circling and the loading line is beginning, but it’s just stuck there. Sorry if my english is bad, btw.

Do not uninstall the game. That’s horse manure. You hard reset by either pressing and holding the xbox one symbol on the console or unplugging the power cable in the back. Either way works and clears this bug. You do not need to uninstall the game files. smh.

Hard reset worked on the XBOXONE.. Thanks fellas!!!

you don’t even have to unplug your power to “hard” reset your Xbox one console, you just hold the power button for 10 seconds to switch it off. The hard reset option actually does clear the cache though, something worth mentioning, so on a technicality clearing the cache does help…

This load screen issue isnt the only game breaking one.. unfortunately this issue continues to prevent saving in game at times, not just manual saves, but also automatic saves. There are a lot of frustrated gamers out there who switched their Xbox One back on and play for hours to find that they have not been able to save the whole time and unfortunately the only way for the fix is a hard reset.

Take it from me if you play on Xbox one, when you are finished playing you should exit to main menu or exit the game before turning the Xbox console off. For some reason the Xbox One’s feature allowing the fast continuation of previously played games is where the Witcher 3 struggles to work.

Another handy note is to try to manually save as soon as you start playing again, so that you are making sure the game is working as intended before you sink hours into the game that will be lost.

If you have either of these saving issues, then the hard reset will fix it, but usually until you turn the console off again. It makes me wonder what kind of bug testing they did at the end of their project road map and why they didn’t pick up on such a major issue. When a bug is game breaking, you should never release it until resolved.

You don’t need to uninstall the game or clear your cache for Xbox one – that’s total toilet advice

You simply quit the game – pull the power out the back of Xbox

    F uninstall the game! Morons

Thank you Steve…it worked. Thank God I didn’t lose all the hours I put into this game.

A simple hard reset fixed the “please wait” on my Xbox One. I think that’s worth recommending before suggesting the drastic and lengthy process in this article.
