The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most anticipated game of this year. It is an open world RPG that boasts some of the best looking visuals on current generation consoles, and it is a nice benchmark to determine the graphics capability of the game on consoles and PC.
CD Project Red have recently detailed the main difference between the PC and PS4 version of the game, and according to them, the difference mainly boils down to the following:
– draw distance
– exclusive features such as hairworks
In any case, the comparison below is between the PC version running at 5K resolution on PC (courtesy of PCGamesHardware) versus direct-feed screenshots of the PS4 version taken by us.
As the comparison illustrates, the different between PC and console version remains true for majority of the game. CD Project Red have done a remarkable job on the console version of the game, resulting in a port that closely matches the PC version. Of course, the PC version is always going to be the definitive edition of the game with the option to render at higher resolution, the addition of hair works allowing beautifully rendered fur and hair, better frame rate and draw distance.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released on May 19th 2015 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
