Witcher 3 Update 1.51 Finally Adds 4K Support For PS4 Pro

CD Project Red has released a brand new update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt today on the PS4. The most important part of this new update is that it enables support for the PS4 Pro. Fans have been waiting for an official PS4 Pro patch for a while now and with the release of Xbox One X in the coming month, CD Project Red has confirmed plans for supporting both mid generation upgrades.

This update was released after CD Project Red talked about releasing the PS4 Pro update in a few days while the Xbox One X update is planned for end of the year.

The update is less than 200 MB in size and so far early updates from users who have it installed confirm that the resolution is improved and it also adds downsampling for the 1080p TV users. We are planning to do a comparison soon to determine the visual upgrade before and after the new update.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released in May 2015 and has proven to be a critical and commercial hit for CD Project Red. The game has sold more than 10 million copies across PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It also received a game of the year edition which shipped with all post-launch DLC for the game.
