Xbox One beats out PS4 in Search Engine popularity ranking

Microsoft’s own search engine Bing published a report recently showcasing the most searched for terms of 2014. Surprisingly the Xbox One beat out the PS4 even though Sony’s console has a clear advantage in sales.

Microsoft’s Xbox One ranked in number 2 in Bing’s popularity rankings, bested by only the iPhone 6.  Surprisingly the PS4 failed to even land in the top 10. The Xbox One was hence the only gaming console to land in the smartphone and tablet populated popularity list. The exclusion of Nintendo’s Wii U was expected considering the console’s situation.

On the software front, Destiny was the most searched for game with games like Watch Dogs and Titanfall making the list. Grand Theft Auto V landed at number 5 on the list, obviously helped by the recent release on the new consoles. Surprise hits like Lone Survivor, Terraria and Smite also made the list.

    Bing. Hardly surprising, is it?

This is probably a bit skewed because Bing is Microsoft’s home turf.
