Xbox One features the ability to snap to a browser while running a game, and this can come in handy during long wait time in between multiplayer matches or long load screens. Sadly, the snapping feature doesn’t work for most websites and messes up their format.
That’s where reddit user Referenced came with a neat solution to this issue. Read what he has to say about it.
When snapping internet explorer, use mobile sites such as m.facebook.com, m.reddit.com or m.twitter.com and the website acts as if the snapped window is a mobile screen and fits the app perfectly to the snapped window. Its as if there was a reddit, facebook and twitter app for Xbox One.
To check whether a site has a mobile site simply add an ‘m.‘ infront of the url.
For example: facebook.com -> m.facebook.com
Some people may already know this but I didn’t and it was extremely useful for snapping twitter.
Sadly, the Xbox One has yet to receive a native Twitter or Facebook app so while we wait for them, we can use this temporary solution in the meanwhile. The snap feature, while great, is not fit for browser viewing as it can mess up the format of the website. Most mobile version of websites are designed for mobiles and hence they are usually able to fit in the snapped window on the Xbox One.
