Xbox One Huge Day 1 Patch Woes Continues With Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark

Microsoft’s Xbox One seems to be one console which usually needs a huge sized patch for most of its games on day 1. The two recent games that come to mind are Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark and Sniper Elite 3.

Sniper Elite 3 is going to have a day 1 patch weighing in at 10 GB. Similarly, the day 1 patch for Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is going to be a big download, as confirmed by one user on Reddit.

The user, who got his copy for the Xbox One, shared this news regarding the size of the patch, which is about 9 GB in size. Wolfenstein: The New Order was another game on the Xbox One that launched with a big patch size , about 7 GB in total. The strange thing is that similar games on PS4 usually have less size for their day 1 patches compared to the Xbox One. This is not the case for every game but it is strange to see it happening for some of the odd titles like in the case of Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark.

Sony’s PlayStation 4 is also notorious for huge patch sizes, but not to the same extent as an Xbox One. Infact Sony is trying to cut down on patch sizes as evident by the recent change in the way DC Universe Online updates the game, which should result in reduced patch size for the game.

What do you have to say to these day 1 patches on the Xbox One? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Bad writing

First says “Huge patches for MOST of its games”

Then says “Huge patches for SOME ODD TITLES”

This khurram guy really needs to keep his fanboyish goggles in check. The pattern in his writing and article selection is getting very childish. I hope the website’s management takes this matter under serious consideration.

  • You are flat out wrong

Xbots damage control. It’s thanks to you fuckers we have day one patches for games on consoles, you may as well take it more deep and more hard!

  • Hates bad writers.

Horseshit. A. It was a VERY small update. B. The game was clearly funded poorly as gameplay of the first mission would show a HUGE lack of detail. This looks like an early 360/PS3 game, it having bad support on the PS4/Xbox One surprises you? Still plays good like the last two, but the graphics are horrid for the power they had to work with. Clearly no effort went into this, don’t blame Microsoft for some turd Activision pinched out.

10 GB patches are VERY small updates. LOL

On the Xbox one? Yes, yes it is. Took me all of a few minutes. You do know it’s just replacing data, not getting new data, right? Oh wait, it’s the PlayStation fantard Guest. Could care less.

yes blame Microsoft since they are the ones to allow it on their system. If its not in good seller able condition then it shouldn’t have been allowed on the system in the first place.

Clearly paying your way in is what’s going on. We’re going to see a lot of shitty ports over the next year on the PS4/Xbox One.

Yeah, it’s not like non-fanboys don’t complain about gigantic day 1 patches that seem to land mostly on Xbox One.

“Usually needs a huge sized patch for most of its games on day 1″… exaggerating a bit maybe don’t you think?
