2K Games want PS5 and Xbox Scarlett to have more memory, storage and more

WWE 2K19 Producer says that sentiment around 2K Games studios is that the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett should have these upgrades over their predecessors.

Speaking in an interview with ExpressOnline, WWE 2K19 Executive Producer Mark Little stated that the developers want the next-gen consoles to get have better media and storage as they are facing an increasing challenge to fit their games onto 50GB Blu-rays with the rising trend of 4K Games.

Literally, having blu-rays as our media is challenging, because the advent of 4K gaming means everything is getting better and bigger and bigger, and we try to add more content every year,

One of the challenges we have every year is how do we try to fit everything on to a blu-ray, and then how do you load it fast enough, because you’re literally talking 50GBs of data.

It seems like a funny problem to have, but it is one of those challenges we face, and we talk to the hardware guys about it and they’re like, ‘yeah, that’s hard’.

This year’s biggest title, Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2, is rumored to release on two Blu-ray discs due to its size being 105GB before any patches.

Batman: Arkham developers were recently to be rumored to be working on a new Justice League game for PS5, Xbox Scarlett and PC. With rumors and news like these coming in frequently now, next-gen is about to come by very soon.

Shadow of The Tomb Raider developers also talked about their wishlist for the next-gen consoles. They wanted the new consoles to have more memory and the ability to render more assets and see further.

Sony announced two days ago that there will be no Playstation Experience conference for this year. They did however announced a Playstation Meeting for February next year which is rumored to be the occasion where they officially reveal the PS5.

The PS5 and Xbox Scarlett are expected to be revealed next year.
