6 Games to play on your Xbox One right now

The Xbox One has been out for more than a month now and most of you already own one. But if you’re confused on what games to buy then read on below for our list of the 6 best games you can play on the Xbox One right now available at Argos. Check them out below:

Ryse: Son of Rome

Ryse: Son of Rome is probably the best looking game right now as far as character models are concerned. Developers Crytek have definitely utilized their signature graphic techniques to blow your mind when you play the game. In Ryse you play as a Roman general named Marius Titus and join him on his battles. The game even has multiplayer too, so you can challenge you friends and see who’s the better fighter.

Ryse plays as a hack and slash, action adventure title but succeeds in offerings a total cinematic experience as you follow Marcus across his battle. Ryse was originally a Kinect title for the Xbox 360 but was moved over to the Xbox One due to the scale of the game. Kinect still plays a part in the game as players are able to issue commands through speech and gestures. Playing the game reminded me of the movies 300 and Gladiator. Fans of the Roman time period will definitely enjoy Ryse a lot.

Forza 5

Forza 5 is Xbox’s signature Racing Simulator which many including myself consider to be the best in the genre. Like previous entries Forza 5 is excellent and even goes on far to improve the driving simulation even further so you feel as if you’re driving the car in real life.

Forza 5 is a game you can play for years or till the next Forza game comes out. Forza 5 features over 200 cars from 50 different manufacturers, you can race the cars across 14 circuits. Developers Turn 10 are hard at work creating new DLC for the game and are releasing 10 new cars every month. So if you’re a racing fan, you can’t go wrong with Forza.

Dead Rising 3

The latest entry in the very popular Zombie murdering series stars mechanic Nick Ramos as he attempts to escape the Zombie ridden city of Los Perdidos. Dead Rising 3 puts even more Zombies on the screen compared to it’s prequels, which was already a lot.

Our protagonist Nick is a mechanic, thanks to that he’s able to whip up crazy weapon combinations using just Duct Tape on the fly which is defiantly my favorite part of the game. Have a Chainsaw and Paddle handy? Use some Duct Tape and turn it into a Paddlesaw. There are tons of these weapon combos present in the game so you’re free to experiment to your heart’s content.

Developers also added a lot more content into the game including the ability to guide and help the protagonist with Microsoft’s SmartGlass technology by using a tablet. So if you’re a fan of mindless killing without the guilt, then Dead Rising 3 is for you.

FIFA 14 or NBA 2K14

You can’t really go wrong with either FIFA 14 or NBA 2K14 this year. Both games are excellent and are based on brand new engines made specifically for next gen consoles. The new engines greatly improve on the graphics and gameplay.

FIFA 14 is based on EA’s new Impact Engine made specifically for sports games. I’ve played both current gen and next gen versions of FIFA 14 and there’s differently a difference. The game feels smoother, the contact taking place between players is clean and overall the gun is much more fun. Haven’t enjoyed FIFA this much in a long time.

NBA 2K14 is a game made specifically for the Xbox One and PS4. The game looks amazing and graphically is the best sports game out right now. The MyCareer mode is back and with a killer soundtrack, NBA 2K14 is one of the best games out right now.

Battlefield 4

Battlefield on consoles isn’t gimped anymore folks! Get ready for 64 player games on consoles. Battlefield 4 has to be my favorite launch title since I’m a huge Battlefield nut. Battlefield 3 was great and all but the fourth coming greatly improved on it’s predecessor. The highly popular Commander mode from old Battlefield games is back and it works just as good as ever.

The game features hundreds of guns, and tens of vehicles including Jets and Attach Choppers allowing you to play the role you want in the fights. With tons of equipment and content to unlock and try out you will most likely be playing Battlefield 4 for a long time. So if you’re looking for a First Person Shooter on the Xbox One, Battlefield 4 is your game.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag

Assassin’s Creed 3 left a bad taste in your mouth? Don’t worry, it’s sequel Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is a much better game. Taking the role of Edward Kenway, grandfather of Connor from AC3, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is all about pirating and ruling the seas. Don’t worry if you haven’t played previous Assassin’s Creed games then don’t worry, Assassin’s Creed IV is meant to be a standalone game and you’ll have no trouble understanding what’s going on.

Assassin’s Creed IV is definitely a return to the old style great Assassin’s Creed games like Assassin’s Creed II. Kenway is a great protagonist and the game’s story is great. There’s also a great multiplayer mode with different types of matches including Assassinations and Deathmatches.

So tell us, which games are you planning on getting from this list?
