Sony’s CES 2014 keynote is ongoing and Andrew House, Sony Computer Entertainment’s CEO, was invited to the stage to talk about the PlayStation 4. Andrew House revealed that PlayStation 4 has sold over 4.2 million units as of December 28th. Earlier, Microsoft had announced that they have sold 3 million Xbox One as of 31st December, 2013. Compared to PlayStation 4, the Xbox One costs slightly more and also comes with a bundled Kinect.
PlayStation 4 has broke any previous console launch records, making it the best selling console in its time frame. Sony had a 3 million sales target for PlayStation 4 by the end of December and it seems like they surpassed it, going beyond even their wildest expectations.
This is an incredible feat achieved by Sony and PS4 is showing no signs of stopping anytime soon with its success.
