Apex Legends: Hitbox Sizes Changed After Update

The latest update for Apex Legends, along with introducing a new character, has also brought major changes. Hitbox sizes being changed is one of those major changes.

Hitbox in Apex Legends is basically the area around your Legend and within the model of your Legend that can be hit by an enemy’s bullet or ability. The size of hitbox varies for all the Legends in the game.

What was the issue with Hitboxes in Apex Legends?

The hitbox size for some Legends was drastically larger than others. Gibraltar, Caustic, and Pathfinder were the ones that were affected more and the players had noticed that there was a small area around these characters that could be damaged as well.

Apex Legends: Hitbox Sizes Changed After Update

After the players reported the issue on forums like Reddit, the developers of Apex Legends assured them that it would be fixed soon.

Hitbox sizes of Legends in Apex Legends before the latest patch

  • Bloodhound – 37 square cm
  • Wraith – 33 square cm
  • Lifeline – 37 square cm
  • Mirage – 44 square cm
  • Pathfinder – 63 square cm
  • Bangalore – 44 square cm
  • Caustic – 68 square cm
  • Gibraltar – 79 square cm

These hitbox sizes show how much difference there is between Wraith who has the smallest hitbox compared to Gibraltar who has the largest. The difference in the body sizes of these Legends is not as much as the difference in hitbox sizes which create an unfair advantage.

How has the hitbox issue been resolved in Apex Legends after the latest update?

Apex Legends developers kept their word and they have worked on fixing the issue. According to the latest patch notes, the hitboxes of Gibraltar, Caustic, and Pathfinder have been recalibrated and it’s now better suited to their shapes.
