Ark Survival Evovled developer, Studio Wildcard has shared the Xbox One X exclusive features for their open world survival game featuring dinosaurs. The incredibly popular Ark Survival Evolved is a demanding game on PC and so far hasn’t shown any visual improvements on console, even on the PS4 Pro. The game runs at an unlocked frame rate on all platforms and the developers have opted to do the same for the Xbox One X version of the game.
In an interview with Geoff Keighley that was featured on YouTube Live, Jesse Rapczak, co-founder of Studio Wildcard, talked in detail about the Xbox One X version of the game and the improvements it might bring for those who already own the game on Xbox One.
Jesse stated that Xbox One X allows them to run the game at ‘Epic’ settings equivalent of the PC version. They detailed the improvements for some of the visuals features including volumetric lights and clouds, higher draw distance and higher resolution textures. The developer were also excited to finally have their ‘Epic’ settings from PC running on a console.
Ark Survival Evolved will still maintain the same variable frame rate which it had on the PS4 Pro. Jesse explained that the reason they have kept this frame rate is because it is online game so the frame rate can drop depending on the engine load.
Ark Survival Evolved is available now for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
