Bandai Namco Entertainment has just announced the first expansion for their game, Dark Souls 3. The DLC is titled Ashes of Ariandel, and it now has an official announcement after it was leaked yesterday by Sony’s official Twitter account.
Ashes of Ariandel takes players to a new winter themed area named Ariandel, and will task them to “defeat the evil that has defiled this land.” The DLC will also bring along with it new armor sets, new weapons, and new magic spells for players to find and fight with. And while no specific details have been announced yet, Ashes of Ariandel will also bring around changes and new features to the game’s highly popular PVP.
New screenshots of the DLC have also been revealed and can be found below:
Ashes of Ariandel is set to release on the 25th of October 2016, and will cost $15 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the PC. It is also the first of 2 DLC expansions scheduled for the game, with the second one to come out in early 2017.
Earlier this year, series director Director Hidetaka Miyazak also revealed that Dark Souls 3 will be the last game in the Souls franchise. You can also check out our review of the game here.
