Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is off to a great start with the highest debut week sales in the series this generation so far. This was announced by Ubisoft in a press release today.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is the 2nd game that was released within a year of the last major main Assassin’s Creed. The last one was Origins which was essentially a clean reboot for the series offering a fresh new start. Odyssey continues the trend but improves and iterates on several of the gameplay features in a big way.
“We are incredibly proud of what the team accomplished with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and humbled by the amazing reception from critics and players,” said Ubisoft senior vice president of sales and marketing Geoffroy Sardin in a press release. “Based on the quality of the game and the very encouraging reactions from players, we expect Odyssey to be one of the top performing Assassin’s Creed games of all-time. Launch is just the start of this epic journey. We have robust content plans for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey that will keep players engaged and exploring the game’s beautiful and compelling world for a long time to come.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is also getting a strong post-launch support with 2 major story expansions and free content updates throughout the year. There is a remaster of Assassin’s Creed 3 that is also included in the season pass for Odyssey. Recently, the game received a new patch that updated it to version 1.03 on all platforms.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is available now for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
