Ubisoft has officially announced the latest installment in its Assassin’s Creed series. The game, called Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, will be available for PS4 and Xbox One on October 23. Meanwhile, the PC version is scheduled for a tentative Fall release.
Set in Victorian London in the year 1868, the game features the sibling duo of Jacob and Evie Frye, who are in charge of their very own criminal gang. Players can expect to go up against rival gangs and expand their reach thoughout London using new tools, including brass knuckles, a kukri knife, a revolver and the Assassin’s gauntlet.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate also introduces new ways of traversing the game’s open-world. Players will be able to zip-line across rooftops and perform aerial assassinations, while a rope launcher will come handing in climbing up tall buildings. The world will also be populated with horse-drawn carriages and high-speed trains, which can serve the purpose of tracking down enemies or escaping or simply free-running.
As is the case with previous games in the series, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate will feature a few historical figures. The developers have confirmed that Charles Darwin and Charles Dickens will make an appearance as part of the game’s DLC. At launch, the Darwin and Dickens Conspiracy DLC will only be available to those who pre-order the game.
