Going by the gameplay footage, Koei Tecmo has managed to retain the look and feel of the anime in addition to capturing the essence of the larger-than-life fight sequences. Players will have to slice the nape of a Titan’s neck in order to take down the towering hulk. In addition, they’ll also be able to tear apart the Titan’s limbs during combat. NPC allies from the anime will also fight alongside you, and will aid you in taking out these gigantic beings.

Confirmed playable characters include Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Connie, Sasha, and Jean. Their names were also revealed at Koei Tecmo’s TGS event, as can be seen below.

The Attack on Titan game is scheduled to arrive on the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita sometime in 2016. Stay tuned for further updates on the game in the days to come. Until then, let us know what you think of the gameplay footage as well as the screenshots in the comments below.
