Xenosaga series started with Xenogears on the PS1 and then continued on with a trilogy that was released on the PS2. The Xenoblade series that is a Nintendo exclusive is also developed by the same team. They are completely different from each other but share the same ‘Xeno’ prefix in their name.
Recently, Bandai Namco has trademarked the subtitle for Xenosaga Episode 3 “Also Sprach Zarathustram,” as discovered by Gematsu. This can always end up being nothing but it can also point towards a remaster just like the Tekken producer, Katsuhiro Harada, wanted to achieve when communicating with fans on Twitter. He said that a remaster can happen if there is enough demand so perhaps Bandai Namco is working on one right now. They also recently did a remaster for the .Hack series that was released for the PS4 and PC.
Xenosaga games were subtitled after novels by Friedrich Nietzsche. All 3 of the games had been named similarly.
- Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht
- Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Böse
- Xenosaga Episode III: Also Sprach Zarathustra
Xenosaga trilogy has only been released for the PS2. It was also a limited release in term of regions because the PAL region didn’t really get all of the episodes, which was unheard of but not completely out of place during that generation. It would be a great opportunity for Bandai Namco to release a full HD collection featuring these 3 games so the whole world can finally enjoy it.
