As previously announced, a brand new update is currently in the works for Battlefield 1 that will add two new features to the game, namely the Giant’s Shadow DLC map and the Grenade Crossbow gadget. Now, DICE has revealed all the other features that will also be a part of this update.
First up is the new Spectator Mode, which will allow players to join live matches as an observer. Observers have the ability to switch between first-person and third-person camera views of all players, or take to the battlefield as a whole by switching to a bird’s eye view, or use Free Cam to fly through the map.
Spectator Mode will also allows players to create content with tools such as a movable third-person camera, various depth of field options , and a number of camera filters.
The update will also add a brand new custom game option known as Standard Issue Rifles. When this is enabled, all classes are only granted access to their standard issue rifle, the one you start out with. This option can also be used to switch up other weapon types.
The update also adds minor fixes and nerfs for a number of other weapons such as shotguns. You can check that out here.
Giant’s Shadow is set to release on 13th December, 2016, for Premium Members, following which it will be made available to all others on 20th December, 2016, absolutely free of charge.
