Battlefield 5 Potentially Going Back To World War 1 Setting, Release Date Leaked – Report

EA hasn’t officially announced the next Battlefield but we do know from their financial forecast that they plan to release a brand new Battlefield game this year. This new game appears to be Battlefield 5 and its release date has also been leaked through a retailer listing.

This listing was spotted on a Swiss retailer. The retailer had the game listed for a October 25th release on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The interesting part is the description of the game which is listed as “Multiplayer tactical shooter in WW1”. Check it out below.

The retailer has now removed any details about the new Battlefield but it won’t be surprising to see the series go back to World War 1 after the surge of modern shooters everywhere. This has resulted in a series fatigue among the fans so a change of the setting could be a good idea for the series.

EA will held their own event close to the E3 Expo so expect to hear more about the upcoming Battlefield at that event. The last Battlefield that was released by EA was a spin-off based on Cops vs. Robbers called Battlefield Hardline in 2015. The last mainline Battlefield game was released in 2013 with the launch of PS4 and Xbox One.
