In a recent interview to OXM, Bioware comments on what exclusive features they plan to implement for Dragon Age: Inquisition on Xbox One.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is the next game from Bioware, the studio behind Mass Effect and Dragon Age series. Mass Effect 3 had Kinect exclusive features and they were neatly implemented with existing gameplay mechanics. They really enhanced the overall experience. Bioware acknowledges this saying that they have data gathered from players who played Mass Effect 3 and they will decide how to utilize this feedback.
It was, exactly. It was an interesting experience with Kinect on Mass Effect, and we’ve got a lot of the telemetry from Mass Effect 3 about how players used it, so we’ve certainly investigated quite deeply the difference between options. We’ll see where we go.
When asked if they have planned about any exclusive features for Xbox One. Bioware replied that they are still looking at it.
We’ve thought about it, we’ve looked at it, the SmartGlass stuff, the Kinect, the PS4’s Move and all that. One of the advantages of shipping a year after everyone else is that we get to see how everybody responds to these things, during the new generation. So, we want to take the time to look at how they work, and how players react. We don’t just want to jump in and say this is what we’re going to do, because it may not be what players want, it may not be a good experience. We have the luxury of time, to see how people respond and then craft something where if we want to do that, it’s the right thing to do. So we’ll see where we land with it, and we’ll take it from there.
Dragon Age: Inquistion is scheduled for a release this year on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4 and Xbox One in Q3, 2014.
