Black Ops 4: Disable the Opening Intro on PC using this neat tweak

Sitting through the opening cinematic can be a chore, luckily you can skip that on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on PC.

To this we need to make a small tweak to the game’s config file. Luckily the developers put in an option here, although hiding it from the in-game menus.

Update: The game has an in-game setting for this now

If you installed Black Ops 4 in your C: Drive then your config file should be in the following directory:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Call of Duty Black Ops 4\players\config.ini

For those who chose a custom location, like most of us did, just look for the config file in the “players” folder wherever you installed the game. If you can’t find the file there make sure you have launched the game at least once using BlackOps4.exe and disabled hidden files in case the file is hidden for some reason.

There scroll down or CTRL+F the following:

//Play the intro movies at boot.

There you have to change the following variant:

play_intro_movies = “1” // 0 or 1

Change the “1” to “0”

Now just save the file and voila, no more opening intro when you start Black Ops 4 on your PC. If only there was a similar setting for consoles…

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available now on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
